Linnorm
Animal Name: Linnorm
Location: Any region seldom populated by humanoids, especially mountains or deserted plains.
Effects/Uses: The Linnorm has horrific breath, varying from creature to creature, but most frequently being fire. Any creature that survives it's fiery breath will contract a terrible poison from its bite. And even then, anyone that slays a Linnorm without tying its mouth shut (or silencing it by other means) will be cursed for the rest of its life.
Linnorm skins are unbelievably valuable for their ability to reflect magic of almost any sort.
Description: The Linnorm is a great and powerful lizard, described as a dragon with no wings that devours humans like snack foods. Each Linnorm is unique to a degree, but all of them are four legged lizards of immense size with sleek, shiny scales and bright eyes.
Behavior: Since the First World War, Linnorms have become increasingly reclusive to humanoids, and the only evidence of their continued existence is the occasional group of adventurers returning to their chosen city with the pelt of the creature in tow. Those who live to tell of Linnorms say the beasts appear to be of some intelligence, but are so hostile that communication is impossible.
